Everyone knows just how difficult it is to stick to your gym schedule. There are simply too many circumstances that make going to the gym impossible. These circumstances may involve a sudden change in your routine such as an extended hour of work, new deadlines, previously cancelled meetings that have to be made up right away, traffic, the weather, or when you simply want to stay home and catch the next episode of your most favorite TV shows.
Instead of feeling torn when these times happen, you might as well forget the gym and stay in your place without completely neglecting your exercise regimen. While these are not really ideal when you are a certified gym rat, these exercises can still do their job in keeping you as engaged to your fitness levels as possible. And to make it even more interesting, these workouts are also aptly named after some of the most popular shows you will ever find. Here are a few of these TV inspired workouts:
Game of Thrones Workout
Yes, you can definitely still work out a sweat while keeping tabs on the latest happenings in the lands of kings, queens, knights, noblemen, and mere men by starting your TV time jogging for 5 minutes. Continue that warm feeling created by your jogging by doing 10 pushups, 20 Russian Twists, 30 punches, 20 crunches, and top it off with 15 lunges on both sides. You can also double the numbers of your lunges if you feel up to it.
Mad Men Workout
The advertising world of Don Draper is there for the taking while you do your best to keep your fitness level. When watching Mad Men, you can enjoy it by doing a series of 10 pushups, jump lunges, high knees, full sit ups, and mountain climbers. Catch your breath when drinking a sip or two of water and then do the process again.
Pretty Little Liars Workout
Keep up with the intriguing, exciting, and dangerous world of Spencer, Aria, Hanna, and Emily by doing a series of 5 squats, pushups, and burpees. After the fives, you need to do 20’s of Russian Twists and Jumping Jacks. By the time you finish this, you will be as out of breath as the four teenage characters of this very popular TV series.
The Walking Dead Workout
Stop feeling sluggish and avoid that zombie look by doing 5 of the following: crunches, lunges, and pushups. Follow the fives with a minute of the plank position before doing 3 squats and 5 Jumping Jacks. No zombie will ever catch you out of shape with these simple exercises.
A Show for Everyone
There are still numerous TV exercises around that are named after popular TV shows. While the name varies, these are mostly kinds of exercises that use a combination or two of the same ones mentioned above.
