Perhaps, no other skin care product has tantalized thousands of people as the Proactive Plus.
If you have not been living in a cave for at least the past 10 years, then you would know just how ridiculously popular this product is.
The list of celebrities who swear by the product’s benefits represents the who’s who of the industry.
Surely, if these people are using it, then this must be the one product that others shamelessly claimed to be, but failed, right?
Before jumping to conclusions, a good look at the product minus the endorsers’ Hollywood appeal would greatly benefit you.
The giant business started as a simple venture for Dr. Katie Rodan and Dr. Kathy Fields in helping people fight the same problems they have when they were younger – acne.
It was such a success that the product has since taken a more extensive approach to skin care, became synonymous with celebrities, hoarded awards left and right, and can be found almost anywhere you look.
How does it work?
The product is claimed to work in three steps. In the first two steps, the main catalyst of the acne treatment is 2.5% of benzoyl peroxide.
Although the product uses a wide variety of ingredients, it is the benzoyl peroxide that is the undoubted star. The exact formulation of this ingredient allows it to go deeper into the skin to treat acne. And, as a very good “plus,” it does not cause any swelling or irritation the way the product does when used incorrectly.
The last step is for moisturizing the skin, which also uses 0.5% of salicylic acid. As a moisturizing agent, it should work well on a host of other skin issues like wrinkles and scaling.
The key is simply the right formulation as anything less would render the ingredient ineffectual while going above the right concentration is a recipe for another set of problems. When used correctly, it is supposed to eliminate 99% of bacteria in just two days!
Here are some of the ingredients of the three products for each step:
The product does not live up to its hype. Also, a product endorsed by so many celebrities could potentially add a few more dollars to your purchase.
