The booming popularity of Yoga can be based on one of two things: either it is because people are so stressed that a different approach to exercise is badly needed or Hollywood is just simply showing off its influence. Whatever the case may be, Yoga is definitely here to stay.
Unlike other traditional exercises, Yoga gives great importance to breathing techniques and asana or what is more popularly known as poses. Yes, in this exercise, the way you position your body is very important in reaching your fitness goals. If your goal is to get that killer booty, then these poses are to die for:
The Mountain Pose
The Mountain Pose may look like your regular standing variety, but when done correctly, this is a surefire thing in getting fit and firm butts. By aligning every part of the body from the head down to the ankles while standing with the feet together and hands on your side, you get a real good balance. While in this position, squeeze your glutes and buttocks for a full or a half minute to get the best results.
This is done while lying down with the knees forming 90 degrees, the feet should be firmly on the ground and kept slightly apart. From this position, raise your spine and tuck in your tailbone for a few seconds, then very slowly lower the spine.
Half Moon Pose
From a standing position, move the right foot back to form a lunge. Once the low lunge is formed, place your right hand on your right hip then raise your right leg. While doing this, you are using your left hand and left leg as leverage. When you have good balance by engaging your glutes and butt, raise fully your right hand and hold for about 5 seconds. Go back down the same way you started. The same procedure is followed for the other side.
While on low lunge, move your right knee slowly until it reaches the back of your right hand and then move your heel near your left hand. From here, make sure the left leg is fully stretched behind you. You can relax and straighten your back while you hold this position for about half a minute.
You can do this by fully stretching your legs up one after the other while you rely on your planted elbows for leverage and hands for support. Hold the position for a few seconds or as long as you are comfortable. This pose firms up several areas, especially the glutes and the butt.
