Have you had those days when you just don’t want to get out of your couch? Have you experienced the thrill of just pretending to be a doll that’s positioned on a relaxing sofa, and refusing to go to the gym at all? Well, we all have our days. But you can upturn those lazy days and still work your muscles. Here are some couch workout options you must try.
Couch Workout Options
Leg scissors require only a place on which to sit, so you can definitely do this exercise while you’re at home and on your couch. You need only to sit on the edge of your couch in an upright manner. Extend your legs fully in front of you and then raise each leg alternately as if you’re emulating a pair of scissors. You can do this exercise as much as you can.
While you’re seated on the edge of the couch, your hands must hold the couch with the fingers pointing forward. Lift your body from the couch and let your hands push upwards and downwards, using your body as the weights.
Calf and toe raises
Sitting upright on the couch with your knees bent and your feet flat on the floor, raise your heel upwards while keeping your toes in place. The For toe raises, your heels should be the ones staying in place. These exercises should train your lower leg.
With 2-5 pound weights, cans or water bottles in both hands, position yourself on the edge of the couch. Raise your hands forward, then sideways as if you’re making the letter T, then put your hands down, then do the reverse of that movement. Repeat this until you feel tired.
You’re seated at the edge of your couch. Holding a pillow, put your arms in front of you. Raise your knees from the ground, then do a figure-of-eight exercise where you twist your arms left and right. This is a core building exercise.
While lying down on your couch, assume the banana position by placing your arms above your head and raising your feet slightly. Bend your knees and arms until they reach your chest. This is the apple position. Repeat these two until you’re tired.
Remember to stretch
It is important to stretch, so you may want to get off the couch and stretch your muscles before and after the exercise so that you won’t feel any discomfort.
