The group previously called as the American Association of Retired Persons conducted the most extensive and largest survey of the American diet in relation to various known diseases. With no less than close to half a million people answering the surveys, the organization, now known as AARP, was able to come up with a new dietary formula that would help people lose weight in the most natural and healthy way. Although the survey was given to members of the AARP, whose ages range around 50-70, this diet is decidedly for everyone who is just not concerned with losing weight, but also in living an energetic and healthy life.
The diet is said to work best when setup within a 30-day schedule. However, when seriously done, people can expect to lose around 10 pounds in as early as the 2nd week. Additionally, the AARP system is geared towards a more balanced solution since people are allowed to get the best of the basic food groups. The diet can also be customized by the readers themselves to let them have a direct hand in reaching their health-related goals.
Foods to Include in the AARP Diet
As always, fruits, seeds, and vegetables get a major role whenever the most beneficial and nutrient-rich foods are considered. Some of the fruits included are apples, cantaloupes, and oranges while some of the vegetables recommended are lettuce, carrot, and asparagus. All is not limited to the green and leafy stuff though, as people are definitely going to get some variety in their diets.
